I have purchased seafood at this store for the last time. I make a seafood stew annually. Because of past issues with their seafood I had started going to Costco for my crab legs. Last year I spent $300.00 at Costco for crab legs due to purchasing rotten spoiled and stinky crab legs and scallops at Save-mart. This year I made the mistake of going to Save-mart in order to avoid paying double and I must say you get what you pay for. I received crab legs that were split open, all of the meat wanted to fall out when it was p-laced in a pot, the crab meat was mushy, almost to the point where it begin to disintegrate. The bad crab legs ruined the whole pot of gumbo. The spoiled meat, caused the remaining seafood that wasn't spoiled originally to spoil. I called a manager and was was refunded for a small portion of my crab but not for the remaining seafood in the pot of gumbo. The entire pot had to be thrown away, because it would have made any sick to consume it. The Manager, seemed helpful. However he later stated that he had heard a similar scenario from last year, from a customer and stated that he would not be able to refund the money for the rest of the items that were ruined. Although I had documentation that I was not the customer from last year, I was categorized as the same customer simply because I am black. He claimed that he had given that customer a gift card and that this story was similar. They refused to replace the rotten seafood because I am black. I was obviously not that party. My purchases were made from Costco for that time period and I had receipts to prove it. I even challenged this them to research the alleged gift card that was allegedly given as it would have substantiated that I was not his customer. The store chose to single me out because I was the same race as the other customer. I find it very hard to believe a store of this capacity has no regard for t=heir customers.

I just left a Save Mart store. I went in to get some fried chicken for my daughter and me for lunch I walked up to the counter employee "A" was putting some food in a bag so I was assuming she was helping a customer right behind me walks up anoyhrt customer...in a Spanish man starts asking employ a how much is a piece of fried chicken while she was still waiting on her original scustomer and so she called employee "B" to come help I was still standing there ...employee "B" started talking to the man ...asking him what he needed...

the A Spanish man...again asked how much was a piece of fried chicken employee "B" told him how much so on and so on so the customer said he wanted a piece of fried chicken and employee "B" got it for him gave him the bag... and the customer walked away as well as employee "B"...he walked away with me still standing there ...employee "A" walk away from the counter with the bag of food now I assumed she was waiting on someone and not herself I'm not sure but I was still left standing there she never came back employee "B" picked up where he started from before he was asked to help...he was carrying a conversation with employee "C " while they were working I'm still standing there finally another employee "D" who just finished waiting on a customer asked me if I had been help yet I said no and she came and waited on me.

Cashiers are mostly gossipy high school kids. They would rather giggle and chatter than pay attention to the customers in line. The older employess are more attentive and fast and prompt in a friendly manner. They need to train and watch these younsters on professionalism.

Liars Just Like Everybody Else

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I just got back from Save Mart on Manzanita Ave. in Carmichael, CA where the Sea Bass I asked to be ordered was supposed to be waiting for me. I'll let you guess what happened... or more accurately, what DIDN'T happen. That's right, I was played again. After writing to Pacific Seafood initially and explaining that I can't get any grocery stores to order Chilean Sea Bass for me even though I was willing to pay for it in advance, the same thing happened at Save Mart. I drove there last week and talked in person with "Julie" in the Seafood department as I was instructed to do, she said she would order the Sea Bass on Saturday and it would come in on Tuesday after 9 a.m., but no matter how many times I told her I would pay for it that day that I was talking with her, she kept saying no. I'm so stupid sometimes. I actually believed she was going to order it but refusing payment means she had no obligation to, and she already knew she wasn't going to do any such thing. After me waiting at the store for 20 minutes because Julie was late arriving for her shift, I told her my story about trying to get Sea Bass several different times at various stores and each time it never came in and the people I talked with acted like they'd never met me before, Julie kept telling me about fish markets in south Sacramento as if she was trying to get rid of me. I can't believe they didn't want to make $50 for two pounds of Sea Bass, not to mention future orders. But I get it now, believe me I do. So, I'll make this easy. I will NEVER shop at Save Mart again and I will NEVER buy any seafood from Pacific Seafood for as long as I live. Now, I don't know how long that'll be, no one does, but I wanted to treat myself to something special after having finished chemotherapy and radiation treatments recently for breast cancer and subsequently making it to my 60th birthday. But I guess I'll have to think of something else. Thanks for NOTHING Pacific Seafood and Save Mart.

No camera watching the bike parking

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

2600 Oakdale Rd store, they have three cameras pointed at the parking lot, and not a single one at the bicycle parking.

Last night I had a 50 dollar pivotal seatpost and a 35 dollar pivotal seat along with a 20 dollar light removed from my bicycle.

That's when I found out savemart doesn't give a damn about people's bicycles.

What did management and customer service say? "Sorry for your loss"

No offer to put a camera up, no offer to reimburse me for my loss in their bike rack.

Raley's has one at each of their stores, so does O'Briens at their two Modesto locations. Save Mart apparently does not care about bicycle riding customers.

Resolved: Missing Rewards credits

Updated by user Jun 15, 2018

Save Mart contacted me and documented that I am in error. The points I indicated were missing had been applied to my account and were redeemed. I am in total error in making this complaint.

6/10/18 update. I am in complete error, the credits were applied to my account and used.

A very nice Customer Service agent found that my Rewards program credits had indeed been posted and then disappeared. Then he told me IT will have to look into it, expect them to get back to me sometime next week. This doesn't help while I am in the checkout line trying to pay and get the $20 credit I am due. The Lucky (Savemart) Rewards website is and always been very clunky with my having to sign in multiple times and it being virtually impossible to find out how to contact Customer service. In fact it was in trying to contact them, on their website, that I got directed to this customer complaint website! As I said, very clunky and confusing website.

Old or spoiled boiled shrimp

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Today we bought shrimp at your Prescott Rd store. I was making Shrimp salad for dinner. When i opened the shrimp i almost died. They smelled so bad. Spoiled im sure i even asked my husband to take a sniff. So we had to rebag them and refreeze them and go to Obriens to get shrimp that smelled so much better. I will be going to the store tomorrow to speak to the manager. This isnt the first time ive gotten bad meat. Ive been shopping with you for at least 25yrs and im done. I will be shopping elsewhere

Ad in mail

Every week I get a Save Mart Ad for the week and the last one had my address sticker placed on a section of the flyer on some sort of a fold. I was trying to take the address sticker off and of course part of the flyer tore and there were some sale items missing.

Could you please tell your mailing department to at least put our address stickers on a corner of the flyer from now on please? They usually do that. I look forward to these ads. Thank You, Stephen R Smith Angels Camp, CA.

I am a very diligent and faithful shopper of your stores. I also really look forward towards the five dollar meat sales.

I am a retired senior citizen and on somewhat of a limited income and I also take advantage of the senior Tuesday 5 percent off sale days. thank you

Huge Price Difference Between Stores

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
In town I usually go to a nearby store (195 W. Plumb Lane, Reno, Nev.). Had a decent price on some wine, $6.29, a specific that I and some friends like so I bought four. However, just two days later going up to a cabin I remembered it could probably use some of the same up there. Temps are getting warmer. On the way, stopped at the 4995 Kietzke Lane store. There was no price tag on the shelf. So what. $6.29, right? Just like the other store, same chain, same market/city, two days prior? Nope, says the cash register. The same product, same chain, there it was I discovered at checkout, $11.69. Eighty-six percent difference. I thought its prices were uniform from store to store. And if not, why not? I'm sure it's not diabolical scheme, but it sure sucks for public relations.

I own three homes in Tulare County and reside in Visalia and I've been shopping at SAVE MART for the past 29 years. I'm blind and I have Celiac Sprue Disease of which has been life changing and over the past ten years, I've had the great opportunity to experience SaveMart build and create a "gluten free isle" or section of which has made my shopping experience get better and better and all of the sudden, THERE'S NO MORE ISLE, THERE'S NO MORE GLUTEN FREE SECTION. I so hurt that your company doesn't care about the patrons, it once was catering to. I absolutely hate shopping at your SAVE MART locations now and because it is so difficult for me to find items I used to purchase in the GF section and still remain independent. Even when I ask for assistance, your employees don't even know how to find the sought after product. I've already started ordering groceries online from well known countrywide grocery stores due to the unfortunate circumstance. Do you know there are already 3,000,000 people with Celiac Disease in the UNITED STATES alone that depend on gluten free food and the stores that provide the these foods and make it accessible to people with this disorder..? Do your due diligence.. Research CELIAC DISEASE and learn.. Please put back the GLUTEN FREE SECTION. PLEASE!!?
